Kyokusui Suganuma was born in japan.
He was a disciple of Basho matsuo.
He gave his uncle's cottage to Basho (1690). This was the famous Genjuan Hermitage of Basho. He killed his colleague, Gondayu Soga, and killed himself afterward.
His wife, Hakyoni, was also noted as a haiku composer and player of Tsukushigoto, a kind of harp.
