Career
Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi is a well-known Carnatic violinist, vocalist and composer. Her brother is also a noted violinist, G.J.R.Krishnan. Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi debuted in 1979.
She travels extensively on musical tours all over the world.
Her style like her father"s gayaka style closest to vocal rendition. The important feature is that one could decipher the sahithya from their performance, whether it was "Jananipahi" (Ragam Shuddha Saveri), "Smarasada maanasa" (Bilahari) of Swati Tirunal or "Aadamodi galade" (Charukesi) of Tyagaraja or "Govardhanagireesam" (Hindolam) of Muthuswami Dikshitar.
