He is an indigene of Lagos and was also the first and former Lagos State commissioner for works and housing. He attended Saint Matthias School, Lagos, the Architectural Association School of Architecture and the University of North East London for his architectural training. He also earned a qualification from Harvard Business School.
He established his architectural firm, Towry-Coker Associates in 1976.
He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects.
