(This work assumes the importance of the biblical mytholog...)
This work assumes the importance of the biblical mythology of "Adam" for both Judaism and Christianity and provides a comparative reference point for examining that mythology as an expression of the human situation. This mythological point of comparison comes in the form of the classical figure of Prometheus. The study comes in three parts and is followed by a summary conclusion. Contents: Classical Roots of the Prometheus Myth; Cultural Expressions of the Prometheus Myth; Prometheus and Adam as Theological Symbols; Conclusions.

(This book explores the contribution that numismatics can ...)
This book explores the contribution that numismatics can make to a serious investigation of the New Testament and its world. The first section focuses on themes connected with the reign of the Julio-Claudian emperors, the next focuses on aspects of Pauline letters which may be illuminated by specific issues of Roman coinage minted during the reign of the Emperor Hadrian. A final section contains an annotated list of numismatic references.

Here Dr Kreitzer explores the connections between biblical texts, classic works of literature, and cinematic interpretations of those works. The aim is to illuminate both the New Testament texts and facets of contemporary culture through a cross-disciplinary approach. This volume contains studies of Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin, all of which are set against the backdrop of images drawn from the Pauline epistles. The studies discuss a wide variety of theological themes, including shipwreck and salvation, eschatology, eucharistic imagery, and liberation and slavery.
