Career
His pioneering work has popularized qi gong through books, classes, workshops, video courses, online programs, and American Public Television programs. He conducts training and certification programs in traditional and medical qi gong and continues to study with qi gong masters in Thailand, Indonesia, Moscow, Japan, and China. A licensed acupuncturist, Lee Holden practices in Santa Cruz and Los Gatos, California.
In addition to his international teaching and private practice, he works as a stress management consultant to corporations, including Apple and 3Com.
He was the wellness director, stress-management consultant, and acupuncturist for Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler on the motion pictures The Animal and Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. Lee Holden first discovered the healing power of qi gong and tai chi after experiencing injuries that nearly sidelined his Varsity Soccer career at the University of California, Berkeley.
Impressed at how these ancient practices healed his body and allowed him to return to playing, he decided to make their continued study a priority. He later attended Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California, graduating as a doctor of Chinese medicine.
Holden served as editor for the publications of Master Mantak Chia, collaborating on numerous media and book projects, including Cosmic Orbit, Tendon Nei Kung, Tao Yin,Cosmic Inner Smile, Lesser Kan & Li, Cosmic Healing Sounds, and Sexual Reflexology.
He also co-authored Simple Chi Kung. Lee released his first book, 7 Minutes of Magic: Recharge your Body Each Day with Qi Gong, which has been prominently featured in broadcast and multi-media. Holden has facilitated workshops “Seduction of Spirit” and “Mind/Body Medicine” with Deepak Chopra in San Diego, California.
