Her poem, Pour mon tortionnaire, le Lieutenant Doctorate. (Foreign my torturer, Lieutenant Doctorate, 1957), written while imprisoned at the Barberousse Prison in Algiers, vividly portrays multiple rapes in prison, and ends by describing the gentle everyday lives of the torturer.
