Began writing fiction and biography for Scribner’s and other publications, 1927. Lecturer on Greek and Latin langs. and literature, Creighton U., Omaha, from 1929, also director departments of Greek and Latin. Director annual writers workshops Catholic U.

Served in 34th and 32d combat divisions, United States Army, 1917-1919. Member American Philological Association, Mediaeval Academy of America, National Rifle Association, L’Association Guillaume Bude, Paris.
