Lev Viktorovich KATIN-YARTSEV

Lev KATIN-YARTSEV, USSR Agronomist and phytoculturist. Director, Laboratory of Potato Agrotechn. and Selection, Selection Department, Siberian Research Institute of Cereal Farming, since 1940; Candidate of Agriculture Science since 1949.


KATIN-YARTSEV, Lev was born in 1901 in Yakutsk.


1926 graduated Leningrad Agriculture Institute.


1925-1932 at All-Union Institute of Botany and New Crops, now the All-Union Institute of Phytoculture. 1927-1930 simultaneously senior Assistant, then Head,Department of Selection and Seed-Growing, Leningrad Oblast Experimental Agriculture Station. 1934-1936 senior associate, then Head, Selection Department, Karaganda Selection Station, then Karaganda Oblast Agriculture Station.

Since 1936 at various agricultural organ, in Omsk. Specialist in selection and varietal testing of potatoes, oats and other crops.


Religion is bad because it stops people thinking in a rational and objective way.
