Ordained ministry Congressional Church, 1886. Pastor successively Edgerton, Wisconsin, Lyndale Church, Minneapolis, Pilgrim Church, Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, until 1912. General superintendent Wisconsin Congressional Conference, 1912-1918.

Superintendent Congressional Extension Bds. of Southeast, 1918-1925. President Atlanta Theological Seminary, 1925-1929. Moderator Wisconsin Congressional Conference, 1903.

Editor Wisconsin Congressional Church Life 6 years, Southern Congregationalist, 8 years. As member Executive Committee National Anti-Saloon League assisted in adoption of 18th Amendment. Trustee Piedmont College, Thornsby (Alabama) Academy, Rural Life Academy, Star, North Carolina.
