Graduated from the Petersburg Theatre School, 1906. Pupil of M. Fokin.
Until 1921, dancer and soloist at the Mariinskii Theatre. Took part in Russian Seasons abroad, 1909-1914. Worked closely with M. Fokin.
From 1914-1916, nurse at the front. Wounded twice. Emigrated in 1921. Lived in France, and then moved to the USA, 1936.
Soloist with Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, 1921-1925. From 1925-1935, with the Colon Theatre in Buenos Aires. With the I. Rubenstein Company and others.
With her husband, A. I. Vil’tzak, opened a ballet school in New York, which operated until the late 1940s. Until 1963, taught at the New York American Ballet School, and then at the Ballet Theatre. Taught in Washington, 1963-1965, and from 1965 in San Francisco, where she died.
