Lorenzo Dellai is married, has three children and lives in Gardolo.
He made the choice of politics through a training program that has seen him involved from an early age, starting with the reforms of Don Milani.
In 1990 he became mayor of Trento, the youngest mayor of an Italian town. In 1995 he was re-elected with an absolute majority of the votes directly from citizens. In 1998 he became President of the Autonomous Province of Trento. In 2003 he was re-elected by an absolute majority of citizens in direct election. And so in 2008 when he for the third time gets confidence again with an absolute majority of the votes.
In the last Parliament he was President of the Regional Council, in "rotation" with Luis Durnwalder, a position that has been confirmed for the current term: he will be vice president for the first two and a half years to become, president in the second half of the legislature.
His "vision" is firmly anchored in the values of cooperation and solidarity, combined with a commitment to "local" - that part of the territory to address the complexities of globalization - led him to draw policy scenarios reflections not only local. Think about the birth of Margaret - who in Trentino has found its first expression - and, more recently, the steadfast commitment to a project of territorial party whose success has had and continues to have extensive national resonance.
All this is accompanied by an administrative project that chooses research and innovation, higher education, institutional reform with the creation of the Community of Valle, the revision of the provincial urban plan, a vast project dedicated to young people and a path around the cultural memory to treasure the past while looking in the future with confidence.
In this part of the commitment to the collaboration with the South Tyrol in a region that maintains balance of the fundamental values and Autonomy guarantee enjoyed by the two provinces.
