Loretta W. Holway

Education

Holway earned a Bachelor of Arts from The College of Idaho in 1953. Founded in 1891 by William Judson Boone as a Presbyterian college, it was the state's oldest private liberal arts college, and its first classes met in the Caldwell Presbyterian Church with nineteen students. The college remained affiliated with the Presbyterian church until the 1970s.

Holway continued her legal education at Harvard Law School, where she completed the Bachelor of Laws degree in 1956. Founded in 1817, Harvard Law School is the oldest continually operating law school in the United States, and it first enrolled women students in 1950.

Career

Holway was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1957, the licensing step that qualified her to practise law in the state.

She worked as a partner of S. Eggeuno. Partners share in the ownership and management of a law practice, a common arrangement in American private legal practice.
