properties, Louis de Broglie was persistently opposed to the Bohr Heisenberg statistical and instrumentalist interpretation of this theory. His own inspiration had been realist, seeing in physics the search for the true nature of reality: to him his discovery was that matter was both wave-like and particle-like. None the less he did initially concede the case for the Bohr Heisenberg view, but in later life, in agreement with other pioneers like Schrôdinger and Einstein and in cooperation with Vigier and Bohm. he returned to his earlier intuitions. Despite much philosophically minded advocacy, this neorealist programme has found little favour.
