During 1898 made personal study of Camp Alger, Camp Wikoff, and army and navy food question. Gratuitously initiated army diet kitchen movement with coöperation of the President and Secretary of War. Arranged, in 1899, for training classes in connection with army schools, where nurses and company cooks are taught to properly prepare and care for and select food.
