(This volume offers a selection of poetic texts written af...)
This volume offers a selection of poetic texts written after 1975 by the most prominent Italian poets. This bilingual anthology includes the freshest poetic ingredients with mature ones, and even with those going back to the '40s. The latter ingredients miraculously anticipate as much the neo-avant-garde phase of reawakening and reinvigoration of Italian poetry in the '60s as they do that revived phase in the mid-seventies when an ever great number of verse writers had access, if not to poetry itself, then to some of its trappings.

(The thirty poems that make up The Cadence of a Neighborin...)
The thirty poems that make up The Cadence of a Neighboring Tribe are organized by the author into three groups of ten units each. The first, permeated by the author's youthful experiences, represent a "moving on" and a "coming of age," in which the early experiences are rearticulated in the linguistic fragments they engendered. In the second section, those fragments are added to imagery based on bicycle riding, which celebrate the pleasures of movement and orchestration. In the final section, Ballerini pushes the language further, breaking the "laws of speech," as he works toward the "tenuous inflection of the real."

(This is a narrative poem in the form of a dialogue or rat...)
This is a narrative poem in the form of a dialogue or rather, a two- voiced monologue: a fragmented epic, contextualizing the massacre of Italian soldiers perpetrated by German troops in the days following the armistice, signed between Italy and the Allied Forces on September 8, 1943. The voices belong to Ettore B, an Italian soldier fallen in combat, but possibly executed, and Hans D, a German businessman born with a silver spoon in his mouth, that is a man who always lands on his feet, before, during and above all after the war.
