Career
He did M.A in Urdu and Persian language from Bihar. Later on he did his Phd in Urdu under Akhter Urainvi. He is a renowned poet and his three notable collections of poetry are Tazgeeye Burg-e-Nawa, Bosa-eNam and Sanam Ashna.He served as professor in Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, Bihar.
He is also a critic of urdu literature.

Later on he became the cabinet minister and held two offices: Ministry of Minority Welfare and Ministry of Public Welfare Department.
