Lynn Sloan-Theodore earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (1967) from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, and a Master of Science in Photography (1971) from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.
Lynn Sloan-Theodore has been a photography instructor at Columbia College, Chicago, since 1972, and in 1975-1977 she was a photography reviewer for the New Art Examiner. "My colorwork," says Sloan-Theodore, "explores the effects of light and spatial juxtapositions on our awareness of the world. I often work with grids, frontal arrangements, and tight edge-to-edge picture organization and try to reveal, through this almost intellectual formalism, a level of meaning."
