In mercantile business in Providence, Rhode Island, until 1904, then in real estate business, New New York Drew up Juvenile Court Law of Rhode Island, 1897, and secured its enactment (first law of the kind in the United States). Authority and lecturer on land title registration, and largely instrumental in securing enactment of New York Land Title Registration Law. At dinner at Brown University, March 1894, delivered address on “The Catholic Aspect of Brown,” which led to discussion resulting in amendment to the charter of the University, 1926, that permits 6 members of board of trustees to be elected without regard to religious affiliation.
Was chairman Brownson Memorial National Committee, and delivered dedicatory address at unveiling of the Brownson Monument, at Riverside Park, New York, Thanksgiving Day, 1910.
