Magnus Mills was born in 1954 in Birmingham, United Kingdom and brought up in Bristol.
Magnus Mills graduated with an economics degree from Wolverhampton Polytechnic (nowadays University of Wolverhampton). He also studied at the University of Warwick but dropped out before completion.
Magnus Mills published his first work The Restraint of Beasts in 1998. Mills followed The Restraint of Beasts with All Quiet on the Orient Express, a novel about a young man who finds himself drawn to rural life after extending a camping venture in England’s Lake District. Upon publication in 1999, All Quiet on the Orient Express received recognition as an accomplished comic tale. Mills’s third novel, Three to See the King was published in 2001. From 2003 to 2017 Magnus wrote six novels, among which are Explorers of the New Century, A Cruel Bird Came to the Nest and Looked In, The Forensic Records Society and others.
Magnus has also written three books of short stories Once in a Blue Moon and Only When the Sun Shines Brightly for Acorn Books.
