Itai, the 13th Mission Universe Japan, accepted the crown from Emiri Miyasaka, Mission Universe Japan 2009. She competed in Mission Universe 2010 in the United States of America.
Maiko is an alumna of Sophia University, where she studied English and Portuguese.
