Career
From 1980 to 1982 Manuel worked as a biology teacher in Cienfuegos, Cuba. In this year he became a professor at the Medical School in Cienfuegos, Cuba. In 1990 he worked as a head at the investigation department at the Medical Schoo in Cienfuegos, Cuba. He worked there until 1993.
