Margarita Ivanovna Lunyova graduated from the Art History department of the Faculty of History of the Leningrad State University (now Saint Petersburg State University) in 1951.
Margarita Ivanovna Lunyova worked as a scholar at the Kursk Regional Art Gallery (1951-1958), and at the Voronezh Regional Museum of Fine Arts (now Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy) (1958-1998); lecturer at the Kursk Art Graphic Pedagogical School (1951-1958).
Since 1954, published her papers in scientific collections (Moscow, Voronezh), and such magazines as "Iskusstvo", "Hudoznic", "Podiem", "Koltsovsky Skver" (Voronezh), "Slavianskaya dusha", and local newspapers. Margarita Ivanovna Lunyova is an author of the album dedicated to the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy (Moscow, 1984), as well as many exhibition catalogs.
