Pastor in Missouri until 1893, 22d and Walnut Street Church, Louisville, Kentucky, 1894-1900, 1905-1910, 1913-1914, First Baptist Church, Fort Collins, Colorado, 1911-1913, First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Arkansas, 1914-1916, West Broadway Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky, 1917-1921, later of 18th St. Baptist Church.

Now retired. Led movement for building Kentucky Baptist Hospital ($640,000), of which is trustee and secretary board. Western secretary Southern Baptist Convention, 1903-1905. Executive secretary Churchmen’s Federation of Louisville, 1922-1923, Kentucky Anti-Race Track Gambling Commission, 1922-1926.
