After graduating with a business degree, Holyoake began his work in the real estate sector. He then leveraged a decade’s worth of experience in the field to launch Oakvest Holdings in 2006, a private investment firm primarily focused on the acquisition and development of commercial and residential assets in the London area.
After repeated successes on a local scale, Holyoake used his model of streamlined collaboration and growth to purchase Iceland Seafood International, one of the leading companies in Iceland’s food production sector. Holyoake sat as the head of ISI’s board for the next ten years, propelling the seafood giant to even greater heights, while deftly navigating Iceland’s volatile economic landscape at the time. Through repeated investments in each part of the supply chain, ISI vastly increased its worth, punctuated by the merging of Utgerdarfelag Reykjavikur as well as the acquisition of Solo Seafood in 2018.
Holyoake recently relinquished his position as head of ISI’s board to focus on new ventures in the food industry, where he hopes to transform a new company into an international juggernaut through the use of emerging biotechnologies. He attributes his success to close collaboration with his colleagues, and is primed to continue to be a major player in the business sector.
