In 1976 Landsberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, United States, where he studied with Jerry Uelsmann, Todd Walker, and Doug Prince.
In 1976 Mark was a partner of the Design Guild in Boston and taught various visual studies courses at the Boston Architectural Center. Previously Landsberg freelanced as an architectural/commercial photographer.
Integrating his photography with his architectural career, Landsberg has attempted in his urban landscapes "to capture the interaction of people with buildings, structures, and forms, with a high degree of graphic complexity."
Mark has been the photographer on a project tracing "vernacular traditions in American architecture," funded by several NEA grants.
