She graduated from Nechaeva private female gymnasium in Voronezh. In 1922 she went to her brother Edward in Moscow, where she studied at a music school, later - at the Faculty of Literature and Language of the State Pedagogical Institute.
From 1932 she was a literary secretary at Partizdat.
From 1934 she was the executive secretary of the editorial board of the magazine "Children's Literature". From 1936 she worked at Detgiz (since 1936).
From 1937 she had her works published in the journal "Znaniye - Sila".
After the Great Patriotic War she worked as the editor of children's broadcasting at the All-Union radio, then - on television.
From the October of 1957, she was engaged in professional literary work.
In 1954-1967, she staged on the radio works of Charles Dickens, Jules Verne, Arthur Conan Doyle, Valentin Kataev, Vitaly Bianki and others.
She wrote in scientific and fiction genre. Her works were regularly published in children's almanac "Krugly God" (late 1950's - 1960's) and many other publications produced by Detgiz.
