Mary Frances Bowen

Background

Bowen was born on May 17, 1951 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, United States; the daughter of Richard Edward Bowen and Frances Aldona (Wierbowski) Bowen.

Education

Bowen received a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1973. Three years later she was given a Master of Science degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1981 from the University of Delaware.

Career

Bowen began her career as a reasearch associate at Northwestern University in 1981. Also in 1981, she took a position of a postdoctoral fellow at National Institutes of Health of the University of North Carolina. Since 1984 Mary has been a senior biologist at Socially Responsible Investment International.

Achievements

• Bowen received a grant from National Institutes of Health in 1986-1989.
