Student Cincinnati Art Academy, 1910. Student of painting, Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas, 1911-1913 (Bachelor of Painting). Student of University of Oklahoma, 1909-1911, Academy of Fine Arts, Chicago, 1916.

Career

Art supervisor, Lewiston, Montana, 1914-1917. Head art department, State Teachers College, Albion, Idaho, 1917-1921. Assistant art curator, Los Angeles Museum, 1921-1922.

Art critic of Saturday Night, 1925-1926.

Author several books, latest being: The Apple and The Arrow, 1951. Magic Maize, 1953; Hurry Skurry and Flurry, 1955.

Hah-Nee, 1956. Elf Owl, 1958.
