Masaka Inoue studied Japanese classics under Atsutane Hirata and Confucianism under Zen-an Asakawa. Well versed in calligraphy and sculpture.
Career
Masaka Inoue was the forerunner of writing in colloquial style. After the Meiji Restoration (1868) appointed priest of Nukisaki Shrine (Gumma Prefecture) and then of Tatsuta Shrine.
