Masato Tahara was appointed professor at 8th Higher School in Nagoya He became assistant Professor and then professor at Tohoku University. Was sent to Europe and America to study botanical morphology.
After retiring was made emeritus professor of Tohoku University and professor at Yokohama Municipal College.
