Education
Graduated from Tokyo University (1896). He was in the same class as Keigetsu Omachi, Seisetsu Sassa and Toshisuke Sugi.
Career
Served as professor of Tokyo Academy of Music, Tokyo Higher Normal School, Nihon Women's College (1908) and presently of Seishin Joshi Gakuin. He was appointed commissioner of the Imperial Poetry Bureau and belongs to the so-called "Akamon-ha" group.
