Matsutaro Ishiwari graduated trom Waseda University (1915).
Career
After graduating became a journalist and was on the staff of Miyako Shimbun and then changed over to Osaka Shimpo and finally to Osaka Mainichi (1916). Retired from the newspaper world to become instructor at his alma mater (1932). He was highly esteemed in literary circles and was also a student oi joruri (puppet) shows. Among his works are "Puppet Show" and Kinsei Engekizakko (Study on Modern Drama).
