Yaso Saijo graduated from the English Literature Section, Waseda University (1915) and then studied at Literature Department, Tokyo University. In 1924 he went to France and studied at Sorbonne University in Paris.
In 1921 Yaso Saijo was appointed instructor at Waseda University. He wrote many romantic poems for several poetry magazines and edited some himself. He subsequently wrote poems for children and words for popular songs. He was professor in Waseda University.
