Career
Musical director of the Leningrad Teatr Satiry, of the Magnitogorsk Theatre, and of the Gorkii Teatr Miniatiur. In the 1920s, composed mainly for the variety stage. In the 1930s, one of the leading lyrical soviet composers.
Various wartime songs. Postwar song compositions till 1975. Influenced by Russian folk music.
