Career

Republican candidate for city council, Omaha, 1888, for Nebraska legislature, 1889. Deputy company clerk, Howard Company, Nebraska, 1894-1895. Clerk District Court, 1895-1898.

American consul at Kehl, Baden, Germany, 1898-1899. Appointed consul at Santos, October 26, 1899, but did not serve. Consul at Magdeburg, Germany, 1900-1902, Cienfuegos, Cuba, 1902-1914.

Consul at Berne, Switzerland, 1914-1915. Attending to his business interests in Cuba, 1915-1922. Became licensed real estate broker, Long Beach, California.
