Meyda studied at Middle East Technology University in Ankara, Turkey. In 1981 she became a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. In four years she received a degree of the Master of Science in Sociology. In 1988 she studied at the University of California. She received a degree of the Master of Arts. In 1993 Meyda became a Doctor of Philosophy in the sphere of Doctor of Philosophy.
