The Law Offices of Michael Q. Eagan was founded on March 1, 1992 by Michael Q. Eagan, who for many years had been a litigation partner in the San Francisco law firm of Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Robertson & Falk.
Mr. Eagan founded the firm to seek a blend of traditional hourly rate litigation cases and selected, complex contingent fee cases to be litigated to trial, particularly in the areas of securities law, breach of fiduciary duty, auditor malpractice and fraud. In the first year of its existence, the firm was successful in obtaining a jury verdict in excess of $122 million in a corporate breach of fiduciary duty case, the largest such jury verdict in California.
Mr. Eagan, and the firm, have been instrumental in obtaining settlements of over $30 million in complex litigation related to bankruptcy estates, including actions against officers, directors, auditors, insurance companies and market makers.
