Morchower received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond in 1962. Three years later he earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the same university.
Morchower was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1965. The same year he began his career as a special agent at Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he worked until 1967.
From 1967 to 1969 he was an assistant U.S. attorney, and a U.S. Magistrate for the Eastern District from 1969 to 1975. He was in his own private law practice from the early 1970s until he retired in 2012.
Morchower was a member of Richmond, Virginia and American Bar Associations.
