The artist describes his work as "a continuing personal diary of life and the lives of those I love. After a time, the diary images make up stories - for example, the eight-year-long struggle of my nephew and his family as they deal with his illness and society's failure to heal its own. Also, my mother's last ten years, in which she is alone as a widow and finds a new identity and love."
