Miguel Salazar, American biophysical chemist, researcher. Achievements include demonstration that RNaseH cleaves the Ribonucleic acid strand in heteroduplexes by recognizing their unusual structural features; showed that reverse transcriptase recognizes okazaki fragments through their unusual conformation. National Hispanic scholar, 1988; W.M. Keck Foundation fellow, 1989-1992.
