Career
He formerly covered politics for National Broadcasting Company News and appeared on The Today Show, National Broadcasting Company Nightly News, and Microsoft and National Broadcasting Company. He was also a regular contributor to National Broadcasting Company News" political blog, First Read. A native of Washington, District of Columbia, Viqueira is a graduate of Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Maryland. He holds a bachelor"s degree from the University of Maryland in politics and government.
Viqueira is of Spanish and Italian heritage.
Viqueira began his career at Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai Japan Television, where he was an intern, producer, and radio and television correspondent. In 1998, he joined National Broadcasting Company News as a congressional producer, eventually becoming a congressional reporter.
In 2006, he served as chairman of the Radio and Television Correspondents" Association. He was then assigned to the Capitol Hill where he reported for The Today Show, National Broadcasting Company Nightly News, Microsoft and National Broadcasting Company, and The Weather Channel.
On June 5, 2013, he was named First Rate (at Lloyd's) Jazeera America"s first White House correspondent.
Viqueira is married to Kim Preeshl of Chinook, Montana. They have three children and live in his hometown of Bethesda, Maryland.
