Mikhail Aksakov was born November 22, 1912, in Voronezh, Russian Federation. He came from the family of an agronomist-forestry specialist.
He graduated from the Central Asian Polytechnic of Irrigation Engineers (Tashkent, 1932), studied at the correspondence department of the geographical faculty of the Leningrad State University (1939-1941).
Since 1932 he worked as a hydraulic engineer in the Jalal-Abad region of the Kirghiz SSR. He was employee of the Administration of Hydrometeorological Service (Frunze, 1934-1942). In 1942-1951 he was on political and economic work. He was residential correspondent for the Literaturnaya Gazeta in Kirghizia (1953-1955), chief editor of the magazine Literaraturny Kyrgyzstan (since 1955).
