Apollosov was born in 1870/1871 in Novaya Kalitva Sloboda, Ostrogozhsk parish, Voronezh province, Russian Empire (nowadays Russian Federation). He was the son of the priest.

In 1885 Apollosov graduated from Pavlovsk Theological school, and in 1892 – Voronezh Theological Seminary.
In 1892-1894 he was a clerk the Voronezh Provincial Statistical Committee. Since 1894 he was a deacon in Shatalovka village, Nizhnedvitsk parish. Since 1895 he was a priest there. In 1906 Apollosov became an abbot of the Ostrogozhsk church. Also, he was a Chairman of the Society for the Provision of Assistance to the Poor Citizens of the City.
His articles of religious and moral content were published in Voronezhskie Yeparkhialnye Vedomosti and Voronezhsky Telegraf; articles about the history of eparchy were published Voronezhskie Yeparkhialnye Vedomosti and in Memorable book of the Voronezh province. Together with A.D. Faddeev, E.I. Alekseevsky and N.I. Polikarpov he prepared the publication of documents of the XVII century from the collection of the provincial museum (Works of the Voronezh Academic Archival Commission, 1902, Issue 1). He founded a cemetery Orthodox brotherhood in the name of St. Seraphim of Sarov, engaged in educational activities. He was the initiator of the publication of the Ostrogozhsk calendar for 1908, 1909, 1911 (a third of the volume was occupied by the historical section).
Since 1901 Apollosov was a member of Voronezh Scientific Archive Commission, and since 1902 - a member of Voronezh Church History and Archeology Committee.
