Mamedov graduated from Voronezh State Institute of Arts (1975, O.I. Starostina, B.G. Kulnev). After it, Mamedov studied at the Philological Faculty of Voronezh State University (1975-1979). He also completed the Higher Courses for Directors in Moscow (1987, the course of A.A. Goncharov).
Since 1975 till 1978 Mamedov was the actor at Voronezh State Academical Drama Theatre. Also, he was an actor at the theatres of Kuybyshev (1978-1980), and Minsk (1980-1985).
Among his main roles: Macheath («The Threepenny Opera» by Bertolt Brecht), Andrius («Love, Jazz and the Devil» by Yuozas Grushas), the Cat («Puss in Boots» by Geynts Kalau), Feofil fon Myunhgauzen («The Very Truthful» by Grigori Israilevich Gorin), Fabiano Fabiani («Not even a word about the King» by Victor Hugo) and many others.
Since 1991 he became an art director of the Association of Theatre Directors at the Union of Theatre Professionals (Moscow). Now he stages performances in the theatres of Russia, CIS countries, Baltic countries and abroad.
Among his main performances: «The Living Corpse» by Lev Tolstoy, «The Island of Love and Hope» by Gennady Solovsky, «Single Woman» by Lev Aleksandrovich Korsunsky and others. Starred in the movies «The Structure of the Moment», «A Walk in the Country», «Silver Wagon» and others.
