1901, while a student, distributed proclamations. Arrested and exiled for two years to Tashkent under police surveillance. 1903 went abroad and joined Socialist-Revol Party.
Late 1905 directed Samara Group, Socialist-Revol Party. 4 December 1906 sentenced in Saratov to Siberian settlement. 1907 fled from exile.
1908 arrested in Moscow and sentenced to four years at hard labor. After 1917 February Revol elected member, Central Committee, Socialist-Revol Party. Sided with Rightist Socialist-Revolutionaries.
After 1917 October Revol opposed Soviet regime. June 1918 went to Samara to organize revolt and established contacts with Czechoslovakian command. Headed Department of Foreign Affairs in Constituent Assembly Committee (government).
1922 tried in Moscow in grand trial of Rightist Socialist-Revolutionaries. Sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment in strict isolation. This term of imprisonment was reduced under a subsequent amnesty.
