Mikhail Dmitrievich Petrov studied at the Voronezh Children's Art School (1972-1976) and his teacher was E.A. Dubyanskaya. After that, he studied on the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Kursk State Teacher's Institute (1981-1986) (teacher - A.I. Prigula).
Mikhail Dmitrievich Petrov was a lecturer at the Voronezh Children's Art School from 1976 to 1984 and teacher at the art studio of the People's Hall named after the Comintern (Communist International) (1982-1989). He started participating in regional, area-based, all-Russian exhibitions since 1984. He painted some ecclesiastic paintings, portraits, landscapes, still-life paintings.
