Mikhail Petrovich graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture in the specialty of ballet director (1965-1970).
Mikhail Petrovich was the chief choreographer of the State Ensemble of the Mari ASSR "Mari El" during 1969-1975. Since 1975 to 1977 he was art director and chief choreographer of the Belarus dance ensemble, where he became the author of a concert program. In the years 1977 - 1978 Mikhail Petrovich was a choreographer of the Yoshkar-Ola musical theater. Here he staged a ballet for A. Lunnov's music "Interrupted Flight". Since 1978 to 1991 again became art director and chief choreographer of the State Dance Ensemble "Mari El." Since 1991 he was assistant professor, professor, head of the department, dean of the choreographic faculty of the Moscow State University of Culture. Since 1969 to 1990 Mikhail Petrovich made several concert programs in the ensemble "Mari El", dances in numerous operas, operettas, musicals, plays of the dramatic theater, amateur, professional collectives, festivals, etc. Russian National Dance Theater of the Moscow State University of Culture performed concert program "Rusichi", staged by Mikhail Petrovich, since 1991 to 1995. In 1997 he was the choreographer of the Moscow Divine Performing Spectacle, dedicated to the 850th anniversary of the foundation of Moscow (September 7, Luzhniki).
Mikhail Petrovich is fond of folklore, history, ethnography. He is keen on sports - volleyball, football, basketball.
