Background
Martusenko Mikhail Stefanovich was born on 15 December 1921 in the village of Temizhbek of the Kuban-Black Sea Region (now Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation) in a peasant family.
Hero of the Soviet Union
In 2004 on the house where Martusenko lived (9 60th Army Street), a memorial plaque was set up.
Martusenko Mikhail Stefanovich was born on 15 December 1921 in the village of Temizhbek of the Kuban-Black Sea Region (now Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation) in a peasant family.
In 1941 Mikhail Martusenko graduated from the Uryupinsk Military Infantry School, then from the Military Academy n.a. M.V. Frunze in 1947 and the Voronezh State University in 1959.
During the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Martusenko was a battalion commander of the 30th Guards Airborne Regiment (37th Army, The Steppe Front). In 1960 Martusenko Mikhail Stefanovich attained a rank of colonel of the reserve. From that time he worked at the Air Force Engineering Academy in Voronezh.
