Pezzuto received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1986. Also she earned her Master of Science degree from Universitat Pompeu Fabra Barcelona School of Management.
Pezzuto began her career as a pharmacist and pharmacy manager at Walgreen Company in 1986. Nine years later she took a position of a senior consultant at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Then in 1997, Mimi was appointed a manager of pharmacy programs at the same association. In 2008, she joined the University of Hawaii, teaching several courses including Compounding Pharmacy, History of Pharmacy, Healthcare Systems, Wellness, Marketing and Management as well as several electives.
Nowadays Mimi is an adjunct professor of pharmaceutical sciences and director of Cosmetic Sciences faculty at LIU Pharmacy. Also she is conducting a funded research study on Sunscreen Protective Factor Testing. Pezzuto collaborates on development a jelly fish sting formulation, used by Special Operations Forces Command and private industry. She has worked with the flower growers on Hawaii Island and has formulated natural product dosage forms for clinical studies.
On August 29, 1986 Mimi Pezzuto married John Pezzuto. They have three children.
