Yamada Minoru graduated from Kyushu University in 1922. In 1938 he received a degree for "A Study of Gas Explosion".
Yamada Minoru became assistant professor in 1924. Then in 1925 he became a professor of Kyushu University. Yamada Minoru served as director of Industrial Science Research Institute from 1951, as dean of engineering department of Kyushu University from 1952 and thereafter was appointed to his post as president of Kyushu University (1953). He had been serving with success in administration of the university first as dean of engineering department and then in his presidential post.
